A BOV is an atmospheric "dump valve" - designed to reduce compressor stall between gears, and so reduce the loads on the turbos bearings. The ST205 comes with a recirculating dump valve as standard, none of the other models had one. More to follow here as BOVs are notorious for causing problems with 165/185s due to the flapper style air flow meters (AFM). Single piston versions should never be used (on any car IMO, unless they have a filter on their exits) but specifically will not allow idle on a 185/165 without adjustments.
