Front Differential
- On all versions of the Celica GT4 an open-type diff was used (see below) as the front diff.
Centre Differential
- All GT4's have open centre diffs, with a viscous coupler. With the exception of VERY early ST165s.
Rear Differentials
There is NO way of telling Torsen differentials from Open differentials from the outside. There are some tests that can be done, I'll list them soon.
- ST165 - All have open differentials.
- RC or CS 185 - have Torsen rear differentials.
- Plain 185 - Some have open, some have Torsen. These are noted on the VIN plate as 767 (Torsen) and 737 (Open).
- ST205 - all have Torsen rear differentials.
