ST165

From Celica GT-Four / Alltrac - ST165 ST185 and ST205

Jump to: navigation, search

The original Celica GT-Four was introduced to Japanese market in October 1986. The ST165 has the lowest power among all GT-Four, but also lowest weight and apparently ideal handling. These aren't the best base to tune up from and tend to rust away rapidly around the arches. These have achieved cult status.

For 1988 model year the ST165 came to North America, and marketed as Turbo All-trac in the USA, or Turbo 4WD in Canada. The ST165 entered Europe in 1988. All the export models have full body kit, noticably the side spoilers.

Early 165s did not have the viscous centre differential, but a plain differential lock.
